Short Sighted explores the angst and resentment that can harbour through a broken home, more specifically an absent father. With mental gymnastics and shifting blame we’ve tried to capture the chaos that the mind can create when bouncing from thought to thought, in both the video and the song itself. We felt revisiting these issues as older guys would add new layer that we may have missed when exploring the themes for the first time as teenagers or young men.
Short sighted lyrics
Berate all that remains.
Just like a crocus, who scorned 5 sun's. You will never know all their warmth, who they are, everything they will become. just like that crocus you'll fade away. And the worst day of your past, rendered my bright future, and I could never hurt you, you'll burn yourself.
Break out, you’re breaking away. So long, farewell. So long, farewell. Sinking, you’re sinking again. So long, farewell. So long, farewell.
Between water and blood the *later is thicker*. Mirror bound, basin full, I’ll wash my hands in the thinner. And these hands, they couldn’t dry quicker. Sincerely yours, the runt of the litter.
So tell me father what I did wrong? Because I don’t want to know, Where you are, where you’ve been, all the space filled in between. Just tell me father what I did wrong.
Father you’re breaking away. So long, farewell. So long, farewell. Burning, I’ll see you in hell. So long, farewell. So long, farewell.
But remember one thing, all the lies should be kept behind the teeth. *But remember one thing* all the lies should be kept behind the teeth. *But remember one thing*
Behind the teeth.
